Hotel booking service on the portal

200 Costa Brava hotel owners show an interest in the new accommodation booking service on the www.costabrava.org portal.

MARCH 2014

The Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona presented the new hotel booking service on the official Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona portal, run by the Patronat. An initial presentation was made for the media in February, followed by another for tourism sector professionals at the International Tourism Fair of Catalonia, held in Barcelona in April.

Continuing its communication initiatives with the Girona tourism sector, the Patronat de Turisme has begun a series of presentations in the area to publicise the new tool that has been incorporated in the www.costabrava.org and www.pirineugirona.org portal for the marketing and distribution of tourism products and services.

The Patronat de Turisme met with some 200 Costa Brava tourism professionals on 11th, 12th and 13th May in the towns of Lloret de Mar, Platja d’Aro and in the city of Girona, respectively, to present the tourist accommodation booking engine of the www.costabrava.org portal, run by the Patronat. A prior presentation had taken place on 14th April in Roses aimed at tourism professionals from the Alt Empordà area.

The presentations, which took place on a series of information and training days, were presided over by Enric Vilert, President of the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona, Dolors Batallé, Director of the Patronat de Turisme, and two representatives of the Booking company, with which the Patronat de Turisme has joined forces to incorporate the booking engine in the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona portal. The aim of the information and training days was, firstly, to inform local hotel accommodation companies that wished to find out about the service and, secondly, to explain to companies that already use the booking engine how to get the most out of this marketing channel for their products and services.

The next booking engine training sessions will take place in Puigcerdà, on 1st June, and in Olot, on 3rd June, aimed at hotel owners from the inland and mountain counties of the Pirineu de Girona area.
