MARCH 2014

On 5th, 6th and 7th June, Lloret de Mar hosted the Harley Butts event for the first time in Southern Europe, a gathering of 2,000 Harley Davidson and Custom bikers from all over Europe.

Harley Butts is an initiative of the tourism promotion department of Lloret de Mar Town Council aimed at promoting the summer season with an annual international biker event. The initiative is supported by public institutions and organisations from Lloret’s tourism sector.
On Saturday 6th June the event organisers scheduled a motorbike parade between the towns of Lloret de Mar and Platja d’Aro in order to commemorate the Centenary of the Costa Brava and show those taking part the natural beauty of the coastal landscape of the Girona area.

Apart from the motorbike exhibition held over the weekend, visitors were able to enjoy spectacular free activities such as an impressive bike show including a whole range of Harley Davidson-related and Custom articles, a technical service, test runs, music concerts, private parties, a bike parade on Saturday evening, a trip along the Costa Brava, a kids’ club for the little ones and the attendance of the world’s top specialists in motorbike customisation.

During this debut Harley Butts event, the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona awarded the Costa Brava Centenary People’s Choice trophy to Antonio Blanco, representative of the Jesse James company.
