Gastronomic Forum Santiago 2010

The gastronomic and tourism products of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona are present at the Gastronomic Forum Santiago 2010 from 21st to 24th February.

The gastronomic, food and tourism products of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona are featuring prominently in the Gastronomic Forum Santiago 2010 that is held from 21st to 24th February in Santiago de Compostela.

The Patronat de Turisme and Girona Provincial Council are taking part for the fourth time in the Gastronomic Forum, held this year in Santiago, and have their own 100 m2 stand featuring local food and tourism products to promote the area among the general public and fair delegates. In addition to several tastings, a large selection of products will be on display and for sale. Some 20 companies from the Girona area are presenting more than 50 food products at the fair and 7 Girona food associations are carrying out show cooking presentations for small groups in the Catalonia space. Local products include marmalades, anchovies, foie gras, salsify, rice, wine (including the «Garnatxa» variety), oil, ratafia, cured sausage, carquinyolis (almond pastries), etc.

The Forum Gastronomic Santiago 2010, which is held over 4 days at the Santiago de Compostela Conference and Exhibition Centre, is both a food product fair and a conference for professionals of the sector and gastronomy lovers. This event has become a meeting point for agro-food companies, professional chefs and restaurateurs from all over the world. The event alternates between Santiago and Girona. The Gastronomic Forum Girona, to be held in 2011, follows the same organisational approach.
