The Airport Tourism Office has recorded a 21% increase in the number of enquiries made there between January and June 2010 in respect of the previous year.
The Girona – Costa Brava Airport Tourism Office, run jointly by the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona and the Catalan Government, has seen the number of enquiries dealt with there in the first half of 2010 increase by 21%, coinciding with the opening of the new more spacious and better equipped tourism office in the terminal. 65,821 enquiries have been registered at the office in the first half of the year.
The current location of the office makes it easier to find the facility from several points of the terminal, as well as enlarging the visitor assistance area. Significant new features of the office include the two screens installed outside the tourism office by the Patronat de Turisme. These screens enable visitors to gain access to the Patronat website, through which they can obtain tourism information on the counties of Girona and make bookings round the clock.
Despite the tough current economic climate, the Girona – Costa Brava Airport Tourism Office has recorded the highest number of enquiries since it opened permanently in 2003. Numbers rose sharply in the first few years before flattening out and dropping slightly. Since 2009 the number of enquiries and assisted visitors has once again been on the rise.
