Digital marketing: #Eurofoodtrip

The Costa Brava and Emilia-Romagna join forces in a cutting-edge promotional activity on social media.

NOVEMBER 2016

A group of six international travel and food bloggers participated in the first joint promotional digital marketing activity launched by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board and Italy’s Emilia-Romagna Tourist Board: the Food&Wine Eurofoodtrip. Celebrated from 6 to 12 October, the blogtrip –a trip designed to give digital influencers the opportunity to experience a destination– focused on the cultural, traditional, and food-and-wine-related aspects of each destination and brought a group of influencers to the Costa Brava from 6 to 9 October, followed by a trip to Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region from 9 to 12 October. The bloggers who participated in the first exchange between the tourist destinations were: Canadians Audrey Berguer, from http://thatbackpacker.com; Samuel Jeffery, from http://nomadicsamuel.com, and Brendan van Son, from www.brendansadventures.com; French blogger Laurène Philippot, from www.carnetdescapades.com; Germany’s Anja Beckmann, from www.travelontoast.de, and Italian videoblogger Emiliano Bechi Gabrielli, from www.emisevenmedia.com.   The Food&Wine Eurofoodtrip is motivated by the similarities in the digital marketing strategy of tourism-promotion agencies from the Costa Brava Girona and Emilia-Romagna tourist boards and is celebrated as a way to generate content for social media in order to attract a target audience shared by both destinations: food lovers and food and wine experience enthusiasts.
