Consolidation of Palamós Port

Palamós port joins the Board of Directors of MedCruise

MARCH 2014

In mid-October, MedCruise, the association of Mediterranean cruise ports, held its 39th assembly in which Palamós Port was chosen as a member of the board of directors. MedCruise's mission is to promote the cruise industry in the Mediterranean and its adjoining seas, safeguarding the growth of the cruise industry. The association currently boasts 55 members representing 78 ports in the Mediterranean region.

By joining MedCruise's board of directors, Palamós Port, which has been a member since 1998, will enjoy a higher profile and will be actively involved in the action plan of the next three years.

2011 has been a record year for Palamós Port in terms of cruise calls and passengers: 36 cruise calls and more than 33,000 passengers. With two months to go until the end of the season, the port is set to achieve the best season in its history in the cruise sector.

During the season, important cruise companies such as MSC, Thomson Cruises, Seabourn Cruise Line, Windstar Cruises and Compagnie des Iles du Ponant have made cruise calls in this Costa Brava port.
