Cortal de la Devesa beach in the town of Sant Pere Pescador, located in front of the Ballena Alegre 2 campsite, was the chosen venue for the 13th Catalonia-Costa Brava Grand Prix of the World Windsurfing Championship, held this year from 31st May to 5th June in the waters of the Bay of Roses, which forms part of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World, sponsored by UNESCO. This seal of quality acknowledges and showcases the natural, cultural and economic values and riches boasted by the Bay of Roses.

A total of 64 windsurfers from more than 30 countries gathered for the 13th Catalonia Costa Brava Grand Prix, a slalom event. The winners were Antoine Albeau from France (1st), Björn Dunkerbeck from Switzerland (2nd), and Ben Van Der Steen from Holland.

The Surfalegre festival was once again held in parallel to the PWA World Tour. This year, the festival included a fair displaying windsurf material and a Volkswagen camper van gathering.
