MARCH 2014

From 8th to 13th June, the beach of Sant Pere Pescador brought together hundreds of fans for an event that offered Catalonia and the Gulf of Roses (Roses, Sant Pere Pescador and L’Escala) a unique opportunity to position itself as one of the best windsurfing destinations in Europe.

The Swiss/Canary Islander Bjorn Dunkerbeck was crowned champion of the Catalonia-Costa Brava GP in the men’s category while the Swiss Karin Jaggi won the women’s event.

This championship has become one of the classic competitions in the international windsurfing calendar and represents a unique opportunity to position Catalonia and the Gulf of Roses as one of the best water sports destinations in Europe.

In 2010 the Costa Brava is hosting top water sports competitions that contribute to raising the international profile of the destination, particularly in June and July: the MIMA international underwater photography festival, held in L'Estartit – the Medes Islands from 1st to 6th June, or the 29th European Sailing Championship, held from 29th June to 5th July in Sant Pere Pescador.
