The CBGCB ends 2013 with the MITM Euromed in Seville, a workshop in Brussels and commercial visits in Montpelier

MARCH 2014

The Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau (the MICE tourism marketing club managed by the Tourist Board since the start of this year) increased the number of actions in its 2013 Action Plan by 75% in respect of the 2012 plan.

Among others, the following actions have been carried out over the course of the year: participation in two international sector-specific fairs; organisation of ten workshops and seven familiarisation trips; scheduling of six commercial diaries through which 120 agencies have been contacted and 65 enquiries have been dealt with; publication of a new product brochure; expansion of the image bank; public relations initiatives; and presentation of eight candidatures to host conferences and events.

The MITM Euromed, dedicated to the MICE travel sector, was held in Seville at the beginning of December. The CBGCB took part in this professional fair and held meetings with 20 specialised companies and travel agencies. The Tourist Board was accompanied at the event by five member organisations and companies of the CBGCB (the Lloret Convention Bureau, Evenia Hotels, the Sallés Group and Hotel La Costa), along with the Carlemany Hotel.

Later on in the month, the CBGCB took part in a networking event in Brussels organised by Meetaxis and the Spanish Tourist Office in Brussels, attended by 50 companies from the Belgian MICE sector, where it held 12 meetings (five with companies and seven with associations). The CBGCB rounded off its activities for 2013 with 14 commercial visits to event agencies in the French city of Montpelier.
