The 5 ski resorts in the Girona Pyrenees are working at full capacity.

JANUARY 2017

Thanks to the heavy snowfall registered in the Catalan Pyrenees in mid January, the ski season is guaranteed to go on until the resorts close in spring. For the 2017 ski season the resorts have worked to provide improved facilities (access roads, ski lifts, ski hire, improved ski runs and more snowmaking equipment) and better tourist services (ski passes and packages). The doyen resort La Molina, with 68 km of ski runs, has extended its “Wildlife Discovery” snow racket circuit. Vall de Núria (7.6 km of ski runs) has widened the range of activities available in its play park and has created a new snow racket circuit, “Viewpoint of Les Creus”. Besides this, Vallter 2000 (18.73 km of ski runs) has installed a play park in the Snow Garden. Masella (74 km of ski runs), which was the first resort in Spain to open this season, continues to provide night time skiing (13 ski runs over 10 km) and has increased the number of snow cannons to cover 49 km of ski slopes. Finally, Guils Fontanera, the cross-country ski resort (45 km), has made improvements to its trails and Fontanera mountain refuge and has renewed its ski hire material.
