2016 Action Plan

Developed in collaboration with the entire Girona tourism sector, the plan has been designed to both rejuvenate Girona’s brands and to boost the economy and tourism in the region.

pla-accions-2016-01 On 15 December, over 100 professionals from the Girona regional tourism sector attended a presentation of the Tourist Board’s 2016 Action Plan. The presentation highlighted that the Action Plan has been developed in conjunction with the Girona tourism sector, declaring 2016 the Year of Food & Wine and Golf in the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees. The main initiatives taken and milestones reached in 2015 by the board and the sector were reviewed before the main initiatives for 2016 were presented, with the latter including trade shows, presentations, roadshows, workshops, digital and offline communication initiatives and campaigns, etc. The main outbound tourism markets were also defined as France, Germany and the United Kingdom. The presentation also named the list of events on the calendar for 2016, including the 50th anniversary of the Havaneres singing festival in Calella de Palafrugell, the establishment of Pals Golf Course and Girona Catering School, as well as the 30th anniversary of the Festival Castell de Peralada, among others.
