The official portal and social networks of the Patronat de Turisme.

In 2012 the official portal of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona tourism offering, run by the Patronat de Turisme, received 1,525,862 visits in total with 5,495,885 pages viewed.

Most of the users of the portal were based in Spain, followed by users from France, Great Britain and Germany.

Most of the visits were through search engines (69.74%), followed by direct visits (19.07%) and reference websites (10.65%). There was an increase in the number of visits to the portal of 9% in respect of 2011.

The accommodation booking engines (Booking and Escapade) and vehicle booking engine (TravelJigsaw) integrated within the portal were additional services used by visitors to the site.

Over the course of the year, website contents were constantly updated, incorporating activities in the calendar and stimulating social networks with ideas and competitions. There was also a significant turnover of photographs on the site.

The Patronat de Turisme has seven profiles on social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Instagram, Youtube, Issuu and Slideshare) where it offers attractive content and establishes dynamic and direct communication with potential visitors to the destination.

  • “costabravapirineu” Instagram profile: 1,486 followers and 206 shared images
  • “costabravapirineu” Youtube channel: 64 videos with 126,312 plays.
